Food Not Bombs is made up of smaller affinity groups that can act autonomously to meet the needs of our community. One of these affinity groups is Clothes Not Bombs, which collects, organizes, and distributes free clothing alongside the free food we provide.
The clothing industry is an arm of neocolonialism, outsourcing labor, exploiting workers, creating waste, polluting the environment, and pocketing the profits. Creating a circular economy based on mutual aid undermines that system.
Clothing Donations
We accept clean, lightly-used clothes such as tops, bottoms, coats, shoes, hats, and gloves. Socks and underwear are in high demand, but they must be new/unworn. Aside from clothing, we also accept things like blankets, tents, sleeping bags, and backpacks. If you aren't sure, bring it to distro anyway!
Here are the locations where you can bring donations:
- Directly to our Saturday clothing distribution (preferred)
- Corner of Person St. and Martin St. across from Moore Square
- 3-4PM every Saturday
- Clouds Brewing Tap Room
- 1233 Front St., Raleigh, NC 27609
- During business hours
- Union Special
- 2409 Crabtree Blvd #102, Raleigh, NC 27604
- During business hours
Want to help?
Clothes Not Bombs relies on volunteers like you to collect donations, sort them, and transport the bins of sorted clothes to Moore Square every week.
